About

Fiona Suarez is an artist working predominantly in pen and ink, creating hand-drawn works alongside limited edition prints. Her intricate drawings explore memory, ritual and the quiet complexity of natural forms.

Built through careful, disciplined mark-making, her work embraces the permanence of ink, where each mark requires acceptance and only allows movement forward. Negative space and restraint are equally important, allowing detailed areas to sit alongside moments of stillness and absence.

Recent work has increasingly drawn on ordinary objects, everyday rituals and the small moments that stay with us. Fiona is interested in how seemingly unremarkable things can hold meaning and quiet beauty, gaining significance through repetition, memory and association. Her work pays attention to what might otherwise be overlooked: familiar objects, natural forms and the details that sit around the edges of our more defining moments.

After many years working as an art director and graphic designer within luxury and fashion, Fiona returned to drawing, reconnecting with the medium that first led her to study animation and the physical act of making. Her design background informs a practice shaped by composition, precision and simplicity, balancing control with the honesty of the hand-drawn mark.

“Drawn to the ordinary, the overlooked, and the things that stay with us.”
